High Salary C

Players costing over $6,667

Nikola Jokic (vs CHI – $11,300): Needs 50.1 fantasy points. Jokic was down to 30.8 fantasy points against the Warriors on Jan. 15. The Warriors were out for blood and there’s just not much you can do about that. Chalk it up to the Warriors being the Warriors and move on. Jokic and the rest of the Nuggets should bounce back given the opponent. It’s the Bulls. Take advantage of them even if I didn’t list many Denver players. Diagnosis: A blowout is possible, which is the only real concern.

Joel Embiid (at IND – $11,100): Needs 49.3 fantasy points. You know what you’re getting from Embiid. He’s been over 50 fantasy points in eight of his last nine games. And the only game he missed 50 fantasy points was in a blowout against the Wizards. This game should be competitive and Embiid will do what he always does. Dominate. Diagnosis: You can always build around Embiid with confidence.

Deandre Ayton (at TOR – $7,200): Needs 31.9 fantasy points. Ayton was down to 28.6 fantasy points against the Pacers on Jan. 15. He’s been up-and-down in his last four games so if the trend continues he should be up in this one. The Raptors are on a back-to-back so if they have tired legs, Ayton should be able to take advantage of them. He had 46.6 fantasy points against the Raptors on Nov. 2 which gives me confidence. Diagnosis: Slightly inconsistent because he’s a rookie but a high ceiling.
