High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,250

Donovan Mitchell (vs CLE – $8,900): Needs 41.5 fantasy points. Mitchell has delivered time and time again with Rubio out of the lineup so I don’t have any concerns about him right now. The only concern is that the Cavaliers are not good and this is a home game for the Jazz, which means it could turn out to be a blowout, thus limiting Mitchell’s ceiling. And this is a big price commitment for him to fall just short. Still, the numbers will be there with ease. Diagnosis: Only concern is a blowout. But there’s no real risk of a dud game.

Lou Williams (vs GS – $6,700): Needs 31.3 fantasy points. This is the game for Lou. He had 41 fantasy points against the Jazz on Jan. 16. And he’s been over 40 fantasy points in his last five games against the Warriors. He just relishes this matchup. And even though the Warriors are playing great off is what is winning in the NBA right now. And Lou provides the offense. Diagnosis: Proven matchup and a very high ceiling.

Klay Thompson (at LAC – $6,600): Needs 30.6 fantasy points. Klay has continued to be a reliable option and you never have to worry about him lacking for opportunities. The debut of DeMarcus Cousins does change thing a bit. How much? I’m honestly not sure. My guess is that Klay will continue to get his shots and it’ll open things up for him even more. He’s at a good enough salary to where he should at least get value. Diagnosis: Reliable.
