High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Al Horford (vs MEM – $6,500): Needs 29 fantasy points. Horford’s minutes were up against the Raptors and he produced with 37.9 fantasy points. He’s been up-and-down and his minutes don’t seem to be guaranteed right now. But the Raptors game was a nice reminder of what he’s able to do. He’s still a slight risk until there’s a little more consistency. Diagnosis: Inconsistent but a good ceiling.

Kevon Looney (at LAC – $5,500): Needs 24.5 fantasy points. Looney had 36.9 fantasy points against the Pelicans on Jan. 16. The problem with Looney on Friday is that I don’t know where his minutes will be thanks to the return of Cousins. The matchup is a good one and he’s earned playing time, even off the bench, but I just have doubts about where he falls in the rotation right now. Diagnosis: A risk due to the return of Cousins but Cousins could be on a minutes restriction which means good things for Looney’s value.

DeMarcus Cousins (at LAC – $4,600): Needs 20.5 fantasy points. I don’t know what you’re getting from Cousins in his debut. He may not play many minutes but I suspect that the Warriors will look to get him involved early and often just to make him feel really good in his return. Diagnosis: He’s at a good salary but you just don’t know what to expect from him in his debut. Could be a minutes restriction which would limit him. But maybe he hits big.
