Players costing $6,667 or under

Al Horford (at ATL – $6,500): Needs 29 fantasy points. Horford has been up-and-down in recent games but his minutes are up, which is a good sign for his value. And now he gets the Hawks, a team he always plays well against. The Hawks aren’t good and could be without half their roster due to illness. It’s not a great salary for Horford and you might be better off spending or not spending rather than ride the middle. But it’s a proven matchup. Diagnosis: Proven matchup and a high ceiling.

Ivica Zubac (at HOU – $4,000): Needs 17.9 fantasy points. Zubac had 37.9 fantasy points against the Thunder on Jan. 17. His minutes haven’t been there every game with McGee back in the lineup but I love this matchup for him. Either Zubac or McGee will have a strong outing in this game. I’m leaning towards Zubac just because I think he’s the better player. But the Rockets injury situation should be taken advantage of. Diagnosis: High ceiling.

Zaza Pachulia (vs SAC – $3,500): Needs 15.6 fantasy points. With Drummond out, Zaza will pick up those minutes. He had 21.8 fantasy points in 28 minutes against the Heat on Friday. He should continue to get minutes in this matchup if Drummond doesn’t play. And at this salary, he’s not going to hurt you much. He makes for a very good punt option given the circumstances. Diagnosis: A good ceiling due to the potential injury to Drummond.
