High Salary C

Players costing over $6,250

Karl-Anthony Towns (vs PHO – $10,600): Needs 50.4 fantasy points. Towns was down to 31 fantasy points against the Spurs as he couldn’t stay out of foul trouble. I’m going to trust that he’ll be better in this game. If Ayton doesn’t play, that will be even better for Towns’ value. Even if Ayton does play, this should be an easy night at the office for Towns given that the Suns still aren’t very good and will be on a back-to-back. Diagnosis: Assuming he can stay on the floor, he should be in for a big night.

Deandre Ayton (at MIN – $7,300): Needs 34.7 fantasy points. I don’t know if Ayton is going to play in this game. My best educated guess is that he won’t play. And even if he does, I’m not sure I would trust him. Check the injury report before making any decisions. I don’t expect much from him if he plays just because the injury will probably hamper him. He did have 39.5 fantasy points in 26 minutes against the Timberwolves on Dec. 15 if you’re looking for some confidence in him. Diagnosis: A risk even if he plays.

Myles Turner (vs CHA – $6,800): Needs 32.4 fantasy points. Turner had 23.75 fantasy points in 25 minutes against the Mavericks on Saturday. It was a blowout so he didn’t get his usual minutes. His minutes should be up in this one as I do think the Hornets will make this game slightly more competitive. Turner has been very good this season and he remains at a good salary given his usual production. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
