High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Dwyane Wade (at BOS – $4,900): Needs 22.8 fantasy points. Wade has been over 34 fantasy points in his last two games. The matchup is tougher on Monday but Wade is typically reliable and this is a good set of circumstances. It’s his final MLK Day game and it’s a big game against the Celtics. These are the games where Wade just raises his level. And I trust him to do just that in this game. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a good ceiling.

Marcus Smart (vs MIA – $4,300): Needs 20 fantasy points. Smart had a rough outing against Atlanta but he’s still the starter and typically gets the minutes to produce. He’ll have to be good in this game and this is just one of those games that “feels” like a Marcus Smart game. I think he’ll have a bounce back performance in this one where he does a bit of everything and annoys Wade the best he can. Diagnosis: Good ceiling but inconsistent.

Lance Stephenson (vs GS – $4,000): Needs 18.6 fantasy points. Should you trust Lance? No. Of course. But the Lakers are without a point guard as Rondo and LeBron likely won’t play and Lonzo is out for at least a month. Which means Point Lance will be in the building. He had 26 fantasy points against the Rockets on Jan. 19. He’s going to get minutes and opportunities and he won’t hurt you much at this salary. Diagnosis: The circumstances are great even if he’s still Lance.
