High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,250

James Harden (at PHI – $13,200): Needs 61.5 fantasy points. It’s James Harden. You can always count on James Harden to deliver a big game. But there are some red flags in this one. First, he’s played a lot of minutes over the last week. And on a back-to-back OT games, there should be concern that he’s burned out. And the Sixers have a couple of lengthy defenders who can bother him (and who he can bait into fouls). He’ll probably still have 75 plus fantasy points. But I must at least throw the red flags out there. Diagnosis: You can always take him with confidence, even if I’m a little wary.

Donovan Mitchell (vs POR – $8,200): Needs 38.2 fantasy points. Mitchell continues to deliver with Rubio out of the lineup. He was down against the Cavaliers but only because it was a blowout. This one should be competitive and Mitchell will get his usual scoring and assist numbers while also chipping in with defense. And given the matchup, I’m expecting an even stronger scoring game out of him. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Klay Thompson (at LAL – $6,400): Needs 29.7 fantasy points. Thompson was down to 25.5 fantasy points against the Clippers on Jan. 18. I’m not too concerned as we typically know what you’re getting with Klay. The shots will be there, it’s just a matter of him making those shots. And because I believe this one could get ugly for the Lakers, Klay will probably have one of his hotter games of the season. If nothing else, trust him to at least get you value. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.
