High Value C

Players costing $6,667 or under

Greg Monroe (vs SAC – $3,700): Needs 16.5 fantasy points. So, we’re really doing this, huh? Look, if you want to skip this slide and get right to the picks, go for it. You’re not going to find any great information on this slide. If you really have trouble deciding between Greg Monroe and Salah Mejiri then your team is already in rough shape. Monroe typically plays decent minutes and contributes something. It’s not much but it’s something. And maybe he gets more minutes if this game is a blowout. But seriously, spend at this position or save $200. Don’t take Monroe. Diagnosis: Nope.

Nerlens Noel (vs POR – $3,500): Needs 15.6 fantasy points. If you’re going to take a punt option, this is the punt option you’ll want to take. Noel had a monster 32.5 fantasy point game against the Blazers on Jan. 4. He’s unlikely to get those numbers in this game but Noel plays decent enough minutes and just has a habit of making plays. He’s about the only punt option who you can possibly say will get you some points. It might not be much but it should be something.

Salah Mejiri (vs LAC – $3,500): Needs 15.6 fantasy points. No. What are you doing? Do not take Mejiri. Although I guess he had 14.9 fantasy points in nine minutes against the Clippers on Dec. 20. So if he plays 18 minutes then he’ll have 30 fantasy points, right? No. Of course not. Don’t take Mjiri. Take Noel as your punt option or spend at the position. Diagnosis: No. Don’t do it.
