4. Rob Ryan

Ryan has not worked in the NFL since serving as associate head coach/defense under twin brother Rex for the Buffalo Bills in 2016. He has occasionally gone through the car wash of shows on FS1, and he’s been working on NFL coverage for SkySports overseas this season.

As the Chicago Bears reshuffled their defensive coaching staff in the wake of Vic Fangio leaving to become head coach of the Denver Broncos, Ryan surfaced as a candidate to become the team’s new linebackers coach under new defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano.

That spot has since been filled, so Ryan is theoretically available. He has been a defensive coordinator for four teams (Oakland Raiders, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, with poor results that can be put at the feet of personnel as much as any shortcomings in coaching.

The NFL is more fun with the Ryan brothers around as coaches. Rex would bring a pressure heavy-scheme with him to Kansas City, which may fit the personnel better than you think.
