. Offensive Tackle. Alabama. Jonah Williams. 3. player. 30

The New York Jets will look a lot different this upcoming season, as they have a ton of cap space to work with as they try to build around their franchise quarterback. During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Jets went up to No. 3 and drafted Sam Darnold from USC, though they won’t have to trade up to get No. 3 in 2019.

The Jets earned the No. 3 overall pick by winning only four games this season, and will now have a ton of prospects to sort through before making their selection.  They grabbed their franchise quarterback last year, and with the No. 3 overall pick in 2019, they should look to bring in a player who can protect that most valuable asset.

There are a couple of offensive linemen in this draft class worthy of high picks, including Jonah Williams from Alabama. The best overall offensive tackle in the class, Williams is a guy who could stay at left tackle at the NFL level, though some are believing that he may be best suited as a guard in the NFL.

Regardless, the Jets need help along the offensive line, as Darnold was throttled on way too many occasions last season. If this team, and organization is going to take the next step forward, Darnold has to be kept upright, and drafting Williams is a nice step in the right direction of making that happen more consistently.
