Nasir Adderley, Safety, Delaware

Any time you see the school listed as the University of Delaware for an NFL prospect getting mocked in the first round, you should take notice. That is the case with Delaware safety Nasir Adderley.

Adderley is the top prospect to watch in the defensive backfield at the Senior Bowl this year. While at Delaware the guy has picked up some big fans, including The Athletic’s Dane Brugler who placed Adderley inside the first round to the Eagles in his latest mock draft.

Brugler may be onto something. After watching Adderely, from what you can find on the internet, he looks to be a stellar defensive back. In an era where more and more defensive backs are seeing the field, the versatility he can bring the table cannot be overstated.

Adderely is a former corner who transitioned to safety and has taken off. He possess closing speed when asked to play over the top but was able to compete when rolled down into a nickel or dime role. While he is not the biggest player, listed at 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, he is not afraid to stick his nose in the run game either.

This week will be massive for the small-school prospect. He will be up against a talented receiving corps and quarterbacks who are looking to show off. If he can impress, specifically in the one-on-one drills, his name will continue to rise. Get used to his name, because if he balls out in Mobile, he will be one of the first 32 players to have his name called.
