3. Terry Rozier, G, Boston Celtics

Terry Rozier has mostly said the right things, but he knows his time in Boston is limited. Kyrie Irving is the team’s starting point guard, now and for the future. Rozier is heading for restricted free agency and, given the state of the Celtics cap sheet, he almost certainly won’t be getting a contract offer in the range he probably feels he deserves. It’s clear the situation is wearing on him too.

Rozier has mostly struggled this season, but coming off the bench has exacerbated it. A recent clunker against the Nets notwithstanding, Rozier has been much better as a starter. His per-36 minute box score stats aren’t that different buy he’s shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 36.7 percent on 3s as a starter, compared to 36.0 and 33.7 percent, respectively, when coming off the bench. During last year’s playoffs, Rozier proved he was ready for an opportunity to lead a team. It just won’t be the Celtics.
