DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – Jan. 26, 2019
High Salary SF
Players costing over $6,250
Ben Simmons (at DEN – $9,600): Needs 44 fantasy points. It’s going to be the Ben Simmons show in Denver. No Butler, no Embiid means everything will go through Simmons. The bad news is that he isn’t much of a scorer due to his lack of shooting. But he still finds ways to score and his rebound numbers should tick up. And he’s always good for assists. He’s slightly worrying because of the lack of help. But the opportunities will be there. Diagnosis: Could be great without the help or bust without it. Not sure there is an in-between.
Kevin Durant (at BOS – $9,200): Needs 41.3 fantasy points. Durant had 39.5 fantasy points against the Wizards on Jan. 24. The story remains the same for Durant like it remains the same for Curry and Klay. He’s more reliable than even Curry because he does a bit of everything. But his ceiling is more limited because he doesn’t get hot the way Curry gets hot. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
Thaddeus Young (at MEM – $5,800): Needs 26.1 fantasy points. Young was up to 56.25 fantasy points against the Raptors on Jan. 23. He’ll have to do more with Oladipo out of the lineup and he’s proven to at least be a reliable option this season. He’s shown a high ceiling and gets plenty of minutes, so you don’t have to worry about him there. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.
