High Value PF

Players costing $6,667 or under

Thaddeus Young (at MEM – $6,600): Needs 28.4 fantasy points. Young was up to 56.5 fantasy points against the Raptors on Jan. 23. He’s been a reliable option all season and I’m still baffled as to why he’s at a lower salary than Sabonis. His minutes are guaranteed and while he hasn’t shown the higher ceiling as often as Sabonis, he’s a more reliable option and still has a high ceiling. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Jayson Tatum (vs GS – $6,400): Needs 27.5 fantasy points. Tatum hasn’t been great in the last couple of games but they haven’t needed him too much with Kyrie doing his thing. This is a game where they will definitely need him. If the Celtics are going to have any shot at knocking off the Warriors, they need the scoring of Tatum. I’m going to trust him in this matchup. Diagnosis: A tad inconsistent with a high ceiling.

Marcus Morris (vs GS – $5,300): Needs 22.8 fantasy points. And if you don’t want to quite spend on Tatum, there’s Marcus Morris, a guy who you know is going to bring it in this matchup. His ceiling isn’t as high as Tatum’s, but there is less doubt about his game and his ability to be a pest for the Warriors. Because of that, he’s more reliable than Tatum. Diagnosis: Reliable with a decent ceiling.
