High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Rajon Rondo (vs PHO – $6,200): Needs 28.8 fantasy points. Rondo had 50 fantasy points in his return to the lineup against the Timberwolves on Jan. 24. Someone has to rack up assists and run the offense in Los Angeles and Rondo is that guy with Lonzo and LeBron out. Sorry, Brandon Ingram. If Kuzma doesn’t play that will take away a shooter for Rondo and it’s not like the Lakers are very good anyway. This could be an ugly game but at least Rondo will contribute. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling.

Dwyane Wade (at NY – $4,800): Needs 22.2 fantasy points. You typically know what you’re getting from Wade. He’s a steady player who gets the minutes and opportunities to produce in a big way. This game is about the matchup. Not only is it the Knicks but it’s in the Garden. This might not be Wade’s last time in the Garden, but you never know. And Wade will want to put on a show. And the Knicks just stink. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Jerryd Bayless (vs UTA – $4,400): Needs 20.4 fantasy points. This is once again all about the circumstances. The Timberwolves have no point guards and that means Bayless will continue to get big minutes. He’s been over 30 fantasy points in his last three games including a 32.5 fantasy point effort against the Jazz on Jan. 25. If Rose, Jones or Teague end up playing, then it’ll be tougher sledding for Bayless. But as long as he’s at least the backup, he’s at a good salary given the minutes he should get. Diagnosis: Take with confidence if he’s the only remaining point guard.
