High Salary SG

Players costing over $6,667

D’Angelo Russell (at BOS – $8,400): Needs 35.7 fantasy points. Russell was down to 17.6 fantasy points against the Knicks on Jan. 25. Don’t be too alarmed as he’s still the best perimeter scoring option on the Nets. And he did have 51.5 fantasy points against the Celtics on Jan. 14. We’ll just ignore the 7.7 fantasy points he had against the Celtics the week prior. It’s a tough matchup but Russell has earned this good will. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Klay Thompson (at IND – $7,100): Needs 30.2 fantasy points. Klay had 25.6 fantasy points against the Celtics on Jan. 26. You always know the risk when it comes to Klay. His value is largely tied to his scoring and he hasn’t been as hot as he usually is this season. Of course, he can always get hot in a hurry. Diagnosis: A slight risk but a high ceiling.

Lou Williams (vs ATL – $7,100): Needs 30.2 fantasy points. Williams had 35.2 fantasy points against the Kings on Sunday. He’s been excellent for the Clippers during their recent run, even when the minutes are there. He’s a guy who puts up big scoring and assist numbers in a hurry. And, even on a back-to-back, he gets a good matchup against the Hawks. If you’re trying to decide between Klay and Williams, Williams is the more reliable option just because he can do more than score and isn’t the fourth option. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
