RAW Women’s Championship Match
Ronda Rousey (c) def. Sasha Banks
It was going to be quite difficult for Ronda Rousey and Sasha Banks to go out and duplicate the action we got from Becky Lynch and Asuka in the opening match and I don’t know if we quite got to that level but it was pretty damn close.
This match certainly had more action from the get-go than the SmackDown Women’s Championship bout as Ronda and Sasha got after one another almost immediately, actually taking turns trying to mimic the other one’s usual spots. Watching Ronda Rousey go for the three Eddie Guerrero suplexes was certainly a sight to see. The storyline of the match became evident early on as Ronda’s right shoulder was slammed into the ringpost on the outside, leading Sasha to focus on that throughout the match, including The Boss twisting the champ’s arm into some crazy angles. Great storytelling by both.
Ronda actually got Sasha to tap to the armbar but it didn’t count since they were out of the ring but after taking some more punishment, she was finally able to pick up a pinfall victory in what seemed like a quick finish. But it worked and it was expected, as was that show of respect afterward. Another fantastic showing for the women’s division.

What’s next: I don’t know of anyone that really thought that Sasha Banks would win this match but it was nice to see her in a title match again as she’s been such an important part of this women’s evolution in WWE. She’ll continue that trend when she and Bayley likely become the Women’s Tag Team Champions next month at Elimination Chamber.
As for Ronda Rousey, she’s now all set up to be a part of a historic main event at WrestleMania 35, most likely and hopefully a one-on-one match with the Women’s Royal Rumble winner. Just in case you actually haven’t seen who won yet, I won’t spoil it for you.
But we also can’t not mention that “4” that Sasha threw up just before they exited the ringside area. The Four Horsewomen Challenge needs to happen.
