15 non-conference games that will shape the 2019 College Football Playoff
6. Auburn vs Oregon
This match-up looks sure to start the season with a bang. With the return of Justin Herbert and a few fresh faces that brought the Oregon class of 2019 recruiting class to a top 10 spot, this Oregon team is lined up to be electric going into the new season. Herbert wasn’t quite NFL ready at the end of last year and elected to return, as it would appear he has some unfinished business to attend to.
Auburn fell short of their expectations in a dramatic fashion, finishing at a lowly 8-5, but the Tigers have surprised in the past. Auburn beat Washington this year but fell short of expectations in the long-term. Auburn is a curious team going forward into this season, one that could either win ten games or fall short of the mark once again. Auburn’s offense failed to perform in 2018, but with talented play-makers like freshman Bo Nix coming into the fold, and a few new offensive coaching additions, they could pose an interesting challenge for the Ducks.
There’s a lot riding on this game for both teams to start their seasons at The Advocare Classic at Jerry World, and this SEC-vs.-Pac-12 match-up is sure to be an exciting match-up, with a lot of storylines, to open the season the right way.
