10. Purdue vs TCU

If I have one thing to say about this match-up, it’s that anyone betting on the game should take the over in this one. In a match-up where both teams are looking for a momentum win early in the season, Jeff Brohm and Gary Patterson will be an incredibly entertaining coaching match-up to watch.

This Horned Frogs team will take on Purdue in what will be their second Big Ten matchup of the young season, after facing off against Ohio State the weekend before in Columbus. As is often the case with Big 12 teams, TCU’s offense will be a high-octane, high-scoring unit that will look to strike quick and hard.

TCU finished at 7-6 last season, but just as easily could’ve been 9-4 on the year, if it had been able to pull off single-point deciding games against Kansas and Texas Tech. They ended their season on a high note, defeating California in the Cheez-It Bowl by an overtime score of 10-7, and will look to continue to ride that high into the 2019 season.

Brohm’s Purdue team finished the year at 5-4 in the conference, with impressive wins over Ohio State and in-state rival Indiana. They took a hard 63-14 loss to Auburn to end the season at the Music City Bowl, in a loss where they looked a shadow of the team that took down eventual No. 6 Ohio State. Purdue reloaded with what now stands as the No. 24 recruiting class for the Class of 2019, and will look to rebound from a tough loss at the end of the season.

Just to note, they also landed their third-best recruit in the history of 247Sports ratings in George Karlaftis, a highly sought after defensive end.
