Fulham face Brighton at Craven Cottage on Tuesday, Jan. 29. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Following FA Cup games over the weekend, the Premier League season resumes. On Tuesday, Fulham host Brighton at Craven Cottage. Fulham are fighting for Premier League survival. The Cottagers are 19th in the table, seven points behind Newcastle for the final safety spot. Brighton are 13th in the table with 26 points.
Fulham nearly picked up a point against Tottenham in their last Premier League game but allowed a 93rd-minute goal. While the Cottagers have lost three straight games, they have played better under Claudio Ranieri. In 11 games under Ranieri, Fulham picked up nine points. More importantly, Ranieri has improved the Cottagers’ defense. In the first 12 games, Fulham conceded 31 goals but have only conceded 20 in their last 11 games. The Cottagers need to continue getting better in their own half if they are going to survive. Fulham also need to find someone outside of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Andre Schurrle, who have combined to score 14 of Fulham’s 21 goals this season.
Brighton have really struggled over their last eight games. The Seagulls lost two straight games and have picked up only five points in their last eight games. While Brighton have a decent home record, they have been awful in their 12 away games, losing eight games and picking up only eight points. Chris Hughton will rely on striker Glenn Murray to steal points from Fulham at Craven Cottage. Murray is having another strong season for the Seagulls and leads the club with eight goals this season.
