27. Florida Panthers

Much like the Arizona Coyotes, the luckiest thing about the Florida Panthers is that they play in a great city. They also have a sick logo. Panthers are one of the coolest, most bad ass member of the jungle cat family. The third coolest jungle cat, to be exact (behind Jaguars and Tigers). The cougar was easily in third until the word was stolen by middle-aged divorcees. Lions aren’t that cool. Google it.

The Florida Panthers have been in the league since 1993. They saw some early success and lost to the Colorado Avalanche in the 1995-96 season. While it was nice for them to make it there, they were swept in the final. Since then, they’ve only made the playoffs four times.

There isn’t much to talk about with this Florida Panthers team. It’s a great destination for players to play, as Fort Lauderdale is a beautiful city, but they don’t bring in stars and are miles behind their state-rival Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Panthers have had a lot of great players come through the franchise, but perhaps their best days lie ahead of them. Aleksander Barkov is going to be a generational talent. He plays like Patrice Bergeron, in that he’s dominant on both ends of the ice. Boston Bruins fans will be quick to point out how important a player like that is to any team’s chance at success, and Florida has theirs.

The Panthers have also hosted a list of hall of fame players, even for a short period of time. The most prominent among those is Jaromir Jagr. Any franchise to have Jagr be a part of them is lucky, as he will go down as one of the greatest players in NHL history.
