2019 NFL mock draft: Quinnen Williams goes No. 1 overall
By Brad Weiss
The Cincinnati Bengals had the talent on their roster to be more competitive than they were in 2018, as they once again failed to make the playoffs. During his 16-year run as head coach, Marvin Lewis did not win a single playoff game, and after the 2018 campaign, the team finally decided to make a move at the helm of the franchise.
Cincinnati has their eyes set on Zac Taylor, the quarterback coach for the Los Angeles Rams, who will play in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Taylor is a branch off the Sean McVay tree, and the hope is that he can help turn this franchise around the way McVay has turned around the fortunes with the Rams.
While the decision for the head coach will have to wait a few more weeks, they have to already be looking at talent for the 2019 NFL Draft, and Rashan Gary would be a nice selection here at No. 11. This Bengals defense was wildly inconsistent this past season, and Gary is a player who can do so many good things on that side of the football.
Not only can he play in the interior of the defensive line, causing havoc in the middle, but he is considered one of the better edge rushers in this draft class as well. The Bengals need to stockpile talent on their defense, and picking outside of the top-10, they would be wise to select a player like Gary, who is going to make an instant impact at the NFL level.
