Mississippi State. Jeffery Simmons. 14. player. 44. . Defensive Tackle

The Atlanta Falcons were a team that seriously disappointed in 2018, as they failed to make the playoffs only two years removed from making it to the Super Bowl. Atlanta struggled to play consistent football on both sides of the ball, and if they hope to get back in the playoff picture next season, they need to be better on defense.

One of the bigger free agents in this year‘s free agency class is Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, who will be expecting a big pay day this off-season. If the Falcons decide that they want to roll the dice and let Jarrett go, adding an elite defensive tackle with their first round pick in 2019 makes a ton of sense.

When it comes to the defensive tackles in this year’s draft class, there are a few that exhibits the kind of skill set that Jeffery Simmons from Mississippi State does. Simmons is a guy who can step right in as a rookie and really make an impact on a Falcons team that already has some elite talent coming off the edge.

The NFC South is one of those divisions that is loaded every year, especially with talent on the offense of side of the ball. If the Atlanta Falcons want to get back to the mountaintop in one of the better divisions in football, they will have to start up front on the defensive side of the ball, making Simmons a nice selection here at No. 14 overall.
