The San Francisco 49ers were one of the worst teams in football as well in 2018, as they managed to win only four games. Heading into the season, there was high hopes for the organization, and some media experts actually thought they would be a playoff team, based on how they finished the 2017 campaign.

In that season, the 49ers won their last five games with Jimmy Garoppolo under center, improving their record from 1-10 to 6-10 to finish out the year. In the 2018 NFL Draft, they added a quality offensive tackle in Mike McGlinchey, who was able to start as a rookie on the offensive line.

While hopes were high, luck was not on their side, and Garoppolo ended up blowing out his knee fairly early in the season. Jerick McKinnon, who the team brought in as a free agent to be the feature back, also tore up his knee, but he did not even make it to the regular season, as his injury came in the summer.

As they turn the page to next season, there is a lot to like about the roster, and they could add an elite edge rusher in Nick Bosa at No. 2. Many feel that Bosa is not only the best edge rusher, but best NFL prospect, and adding him to an already solid defensive line would be a major upgrade for the 49ers moving forward.
