6. Toby Keith, Oklahoma Sooners

Toby Keith has been a major fixture in country music for quite sometimes. His music over the years has ranged from sentimental to wildly fun to notably patriotic, and it’s made him one of the longest-lasting stars of the genre as he’s been doing it at the biggest stages for over two decades now. One thing that hasn’t changed over all that time, however, is that Keith loves the Oklahoma Sooners.

A native of Clinton, OK, Keith’s ties to football itself are old as he was a high school standout in the state. In fact, the country star even played a little semi-pro football, which isn’t surprising when you look at the frame of the famed singer. While he didn’t play for the Sooners on the gridiron, though, his ties and love for the university have been obvious throughout his entire life.

Now a major celebrity, you can still see Keith at many Sooners games throughout the season. He’s often down on the sidelines with the teams and, many times in a given year, he’ll show up at practices with the Oklahoma football team to see what’s going on with his favorite team. He has consistently shown love to the team, and at this point, there’s probably no changing that.

To be sure, Keith has had a lot to enjoy over the past couple of years. Lincoln Riley has taken the Sooners to big offensive heights with Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray, and the hope is that OU now has another football dynasty developing, which will now be led by Jalen Hurts, who just transferred to Norman.
