5. LeBron James, Ohio State Buckeyes

Many of the celebrities that are featured on this list have ties to the schools that they are fans of because, well, they went there. However, the man that kicks off the top five of this 30-celeb ranking actually never attended a university at all. LeBron James, now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers (and patiently awaiting the arrival of Anthony Davis, perhaps?), went straight to the NBA out of high school, but he still is all about the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Kid from Akron has never been shy about his Ohio ties, from becoming a savior (then villain, then savior again) in Cleveland to opening up his own school in the state, James has been all about anything regarding his home state. Thus, it shouldn’t be a surprise that he’s all in when it comes to the Buckeyes.

For one, James has made it quite clear that, if he were coming out of high school under the current NBA/NCAA rules and had to attend college for at least a year, he’d have been at Ohio State. Even without that, though, LeBron has been on the sidelines for numerous Buckeyes games, even traveling to see them play when they were on the road while he was playing in Cleveland still.

Now in Los Angeles, of course, LeBron has had to dial back how many Ohio State games he can attend. Even still, there’s no denying where his college allegiances lie at this point — it’s in Columbus with the Buckeyes.
