DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – January 31, 2019
High Salary SG
Players costing over $6,250
D’Angelo Russell (at SA – $8,400): Needs 38.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 52.5 fantasy points against Chicago. This is a tough matchup for Russell and the Spurs probably won’t be happy after nearly losing to the Suns. But Russell remains the top option on the Nets and he’s proven that he can step up in these games. I trust him to do so in this one. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
Jimmy Butler (at GS – $7,400): Needs 33.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 47.25 fantasy points against LA Lakers. Butler is now the point guard so that’s good news for his value and not great news for the value of Ben Simmons. This is a tough matchup for the Sixers but he’s a guy who can do a bit of everything and typically raises his game in these big matchups. He remains at a good salary based on his usual minutes and production. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.
Brandon Ingram (at LAC – $7,300): Needs 33.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 48.25 fantasy points against Philadelphia. Ingram had a big game against the Sixers but we’ve seen this story from Ingram before. He’ll have a strong game, people will freak out and then he’ll disappear for a week. He’s never played well against the Clippers but the minutes and opportunities will continue to be there for him. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a high ceiling.
