4. Leicester end Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s unbeaten run

Although it took time to come around, one of the biggest stories of the season has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time in charge of Manchester United as interim head coach. The Norwegian striker (and United legend) took over from Jose Mourinho and has done a brilliant job so far.

Until their midweek match against Burnley, Manchester United had won eight matches in a row under Solskjaer’s guidance. A home draw with Burnley was not a good result by any means but it was the manner in which United achieved it that has kept the Norwegian manager in the fans’ good books.

United were 2-0 down with less than 5 minutes to go and scored once in regular time and then again in stoppage time to salvage a point — reminiscent of the trophy-winning Manchester United that never knew when they were beat.

This weekend United travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester in what should be a tough match. The Foxes season can probably best be described as indifferent but they’ve impressed against the big teams, beating Manchester City and getting draws against Liverpool and Chelsea.

Leicester need to implement the same gameplan that brought them success at Anfield and if Claude Puel’s side do this then they’ll have a good chance on Sunday. United are playing with more freedom and Leicester will look to hit them on the break whilst staying strong at the back.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been impressive so far as Manchester United manager and he just seems to get it which bears a similarity to Zinedine Zidane’s time in charge of Real Madrid. The Norwegian may well get the job at the end of the season but this weekend he will taste defeat for the first time as the United manager.
