DraftKings daily picks: Fantasy basketball lineup – February 1, 2019
High Salary PG
Players costing over $6,250
Russell Westbrook (at MIA – $11,000): Needs 51.2 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 66 fantasy points against Orlando. The Heat are struggling and the Thunder are rolling. So, of course, Miami will come out and surprise everyone to win this game because the NBA is the craziest league in the world. Right? Westbrook is Westbrook. The numbers are always there for him and he should deliver once again in this game. The Heat can make things a slog but there’s a lot to love out of OKC right now. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.
Kyrie Irving (at NY – $9,600): Needs 44.7 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 60 fantasy points against Golden State. It’s been a week since Kyrie has played but I’m not worried about rust in this matchup. The Knicks are already a poor team and now they are going to be a shorthanded team as I wouldn’t expect the new guys to suit up this quick. The only concern in this game is a blowout and Kyrie not having to do much because of it. Kemba might be a bit more reliable because that game will close. And this one likely won’t be. Diagnosis: Reliable but Kemba will have the higher ceiling and might be more cost-effective. He’s just cold right now while Kyrie is red hot.
Trae Young (at UTA – $7,000): Needs 32.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 37.75 fantasy points against Sacramento. I like Chris Paul more if he’s actually going to play but he was a late addition to the injury report and may not suit up. Young has been playing very well as of late but this is a tough matchup going into Utah. But I already mentioned my thoughts on Kemba so I may as well give Young some shine. He’s a risk but I like his game right now. Diagnosis: Tough matchup but a good ceiling.
