5. Goff was not ready, at all

We had so many high hopes that Jared Goff would play like a vet who was in his fourth Super Bowl.

We had so many high hopes that Goff would have the Rams playing at a high-octane speed, tiring out the old Patriots.

Well, we thought wrong.

Goff was simply not ready for this bright of a spotlight.

Consider these stats: 19-of-38 for 229 yards, one interception and a quarterback rating of 62.9. To put his performance in recent history, his 62.9 rating was just nearly eight points higher than Cam Newton’s stinker of a Super Bowl 50, putting his horrible performance just outside the top 10 worst QB performances in Super Bowl history.

Is Goff better than this? Absolutely. He’s one of the top quarterbacks in the game, and this performance shouldn’t make a dent in that.

Will Goff get back here again? More than likely, as he has a stacked team around him who, like Goff, was also in their first ever Super Bowl. So, he’ll be back, and, hopefully, more determined than ever.

But, for tonight at least, he has to live with the fact that he stunk up the ATL.
