High Value PG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Marcus Smart (vs OKC – $4,800): Needs 22.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 11 fantasy points against New York. Smart has been more miss than hit lately but the minutes are there and I typically trust him in these big games. He has a way of raising his level and making an impact but sheer will and force. Maybe he steps up here. But I acknowledge the risk. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a good ceiling.

Shelvin Mack (at NY – $4,500): Needs 21 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 38.25 fantasy points against Charlotte. If Mike Conley is out once again, you can take Mack with confidence. He’s going to get big minutes as the starter and he’s playing the Knicks, which always helps. And I still don’t know what you’re getting from the Knicks with their new players possibly not suiting up. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a high ceiling if Conley doesn’t play.

Kadeem Allen (vs MEM – $3,700): Needs 17.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 21 fantasy points against Boston. Allen picked up the start for the shorthanded Knicks and did fairly well against Boston. As mentioned above, as of this writing, I don’t know who will be playing for the Knicks. But take the starter. If it’s Dennis Smith Jr, definitely take him. If it’s Allen, take him. They are all at a good cost and will get plenty of opportunities. Diagnosis: If he starts, take him with confidence.
