High Value SG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Marcus Smart (vs OKC – $5,000): Needs 21.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 11.4 fantasy points against New York. Smart has been down over the last couple of weeks but the minutes are still there and this feels like a game where he makes an impact. The Thunder are a tough team and Smart is going to relish the challenge of Guarding George and Westbrook. He’s a guy who just makes plays and I think he’ll make a handful in this one. Diagnosis: Inconsistent with a high ceiling.

Justin Holiday (at NY – $4,300): Needs 18.6 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 21.3 fantasy points against Charlotte. Holiday is in the starting lineup and playing solid minutes for the Grizzlies. So there’s that. He’s not always doing much with those minutes. But it’s the Knicks. And if the Knicks are still shorthanded, the Grizzlies should have an easier time. Both these teams are a mess there are a lot of unknown with the Knicks rotation, which has me worried. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a decent ceiling.

Damyean Dotson (vs MEM – $3,800): Needs 16.4 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27.2 fantasy points against Boston. Once again, I have no clue what to expect from the Knicks in this game. I don’t know what their rotation is going to be. If the new guys don’t play, grab the guards who start. But if the new guys play, even if someone like Wesley Matthews doesn’t start, he’s probably going to eat some minutes. Maybe. Who knows. The Knicks are weird. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling if he starts.
