Buffalo Bills-Sign WR Tyrell Williams

Josh Allen will never be an incredibly accurate passer, but the Bills seem to have found the type of wide receiver that can work well with him Robert Foster emerged as a deep threat last season, with most of his 541 yards and three touchdowns on 27 catches coming from Week 10 on and he had two 100-yard games (three games over 90 yards) over the six games after Allen returned from injury. Zay Jones also finished strong, with three touchdowns over the final two games of the season (five touchdowns over the final five) and over 65 yards in three of the final five games. But Buffalo can and should be looking to add pieces around their young quarterback.

Williams has struggled to find a consistent place in the Chargers’ passing game. But what he has been good for is big plays, topping 15 yards per catch in three straight seasons and finishing top-five in the league in that category in 2017 (16.9 yards per catch). He also has 16 touchdowns over the last three seasons, with a 1,000-yard season on his resume when Keenan Allen missed all but one game in 2016 and he became the Chargers’ de facto No. 1 wide receiver.

Williams ran from the slot with the Chargers, at 6-foot-4, so he’s a matchup problem in that part of the field. His speed lends itself well to playing outside, obviously, so the ability to move him around makes him an ideal fit for the Bills and what they should be looking for in a veteran wide receiver.
