2. New York Giants

Eli Manning set a career-high for completion percentage last season (66 percent), and he topped 4,000 passing yards again. But he’s clearly diminished at 38 years old, and the Giants are not exactly fully committed to him as the starting quarterback next season.

Manning is set to make a total of $17 million in the final year of his contract in 2019, including a $5 million bonus due to him in mid-March. So his return to the Giants may be predicated on taking a pay cut, along with his willingness to mentor a rookie quarterback that’s likely coming in with the No. 6 pick in April’s draft (for example, Dwayne Haskins). If taking a pay cut is not palatable for the two-time Super Bowl MVP, retirement feels just as likely as landing on another team.

To legitimately be in on Foles, or any other veteran quarterback for that matter, the Giants would have to completely cut bait with Manning. That would be a tough decision to make, even if it can be seen as overdue from the outside looking in, but Foles to the Giants is out there as a possibility until further notice.
