1. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars are finally ready to part ways with Blake Bortles, and they can spread the $16.5 million cap hit attached to cutting him over two years by making him a post-June 1 cut. They may take a quarterback with the No. 7 pick in April’s draft, but shedding Bortles also puts them in the mix for a veteran signal caller in free agency.

The Jaguars announced some changes to their coaching staff after the season, including the hiring of John DeFilippo as offensive coordinator. DeFilippo was the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach during Foles’ run to Super Bowl MVP, parlaying whatever credit he deserved for that into an offensive coordinator job with the Vikings that didn’t even last a full season. But that tie invites the idea the Jaguars will make a legitimate run at Foles, and it’s impossible to dismiss.

Foles may value familiarity with DeFilippo above a lot of things as he gets set to be available, and Jacksonville can move into good territory against the cap with some high-level cuts or restructures beyond Bortles.
