First Touchdown Scorer: Sony Michel +500

This was the favorite on the board for this bet. Think about that, this prop bet had a favorite that was a ridiculous 5/1 odds. Here, the favorite won, and it might pay huge for those who went with it.

This one was harder to predict, and it was close to being the first Super Bowl without a touchdown. In fact, the Rams are only the second team ever to score zero touchdowns in a Super Bowl after the Miami Dolphins in 1972. That’s beyond the point.

Michel was the guy to go with in this bet. The Patriots were eventually going to get near the goal line, then they would use the rookie to punch it in. The Patriots might have thrown a curveball and used Rex Burkhead, but it was much more likely Belichick would have chosen Michel. That’s exactly what he did for the team’s only touchdown.

By the way, no touchdowns was on the board and it went off at +10000.

Mention of Ted Rath: Under 3 1/2 +135

Here’s the thing, there was a massive move that upended this bet just hours before kickoff. The Los Angeles Rams announced that Ted Rath, who was Sean McVay’s “get-back” coach, would not be on the sidelines for the Super Bowl. Rath had a recent medical procedure, so that made this the lock of the century.

Many times, Vegas will pull bets like this off the board if something like this happens, but if they didn’t then this was a way to get easy money. Still, this didn’t seem like something the broadcast was going to spend a lot of time on. This seemed like one of those topics that gain traction on the internet when there is nothing to talk about for two weeks in between the Championship Games and the Super Bowl. This isn’t something a broadcast feels the need to mention.

Even if you thought they did, we hope you waited until this morning to make you bet, realized Rath would not be at the Super Bowl, and made your bet on the under. If you bet big, that +135 could pay big dividends.
