The premier right tackle on the market this year is Ja’Wuan James. A smooth pass protector and excellent zone blocker, James would be a considerable upgrade for half of the league. One thing to consider is he’s more of a finesse right tackle than the traditional mauler, which could affect which teams are interested.

James will benefit from a bleak market flush with money to spend. He’s missed 16 games in the last four years, but his upside as an instant impact player will draw heavy interest from rebuilding teams and contenders alike. Miami will have a lot of competition if they don’t tag him.

Projected deal: Five years, $45 million

Best fits: Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, Los Angeles Chargers, New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arizona Cardinals
