5. Jared Cook, TE Oakland Raiders

There seems to be some uncertainty if Case Keenum will return, or start, for the Broncos in 2019. If he is still in the plans, then signing a veteran tight end like Jared Cook is a must.

The Broncos saw Jake Butt, one of the team’s 2017 draft choices, go down with an injury last year that limited him to three games. Jeff Heuerman became the team’s number one, but even he saw limited action and didn’t play a game after Week 12.

Heuerman is set to become a free agent, and he didn’t prove too much as far as being a number one tight end goes. So, Cook should be a top target.

Cook made his first Pro Bowl in 2018 with career highs in receptions (68), yards (896) and touchdowns (6).  He will be 32-years old by the time next season rolls around, so the Broncos may be a bit tentative on paying too much for an aging player coming off a career season.

According to Spotrac.com, Cook has a market value around $7 million. That price may fluctuate but bringing him in on a short-term deal for that type of money will be worth it. Cook would become a safety net for Keenum and become another offensive weapon.

Opening things up on the offensive side of the football is a must. Cook would slot right into the fold with ease.
