NFL free agency 2019: Top 50 available players
By Conor Myles
38. Shaquil Barrett, OLB
Barrett has been with the Denver Broncos ever since the team signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Many might see this ranking as a little high for the 3-4 edge rusher, but this is purely from a potential standpoint.
Barrett has generated 15 sacks and 67 quarterback hurries while only notching 15 starts through 61 games for the Broncos. It’s impressive for the undrafted free agent to generate this much pressure as he’s been mostly the forgotten man in Denver playing behind the likes of Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware, Shane Ray, and Bradley Chubb for the duration of his Broncos’ career.
Expect the 26-year-old to cash in on that potential in a free agent market this offseason with teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (with their switch to a 3-4 defense), New York Giants, and Washington Redskins among his possible landing spots.
