37. David Irving, DT

Another player I have ranked higher than many would expect is David Irving. The undrafted free agent out of Iowa State may find it hard to generate much interest on the open market due to his off-the-field issues, including multiiple suspensions for failed drug tests. Irving played in two games for the Dallas Cowboys this season while dealing both with an ankle injury and his personal issues.

When the 25-year-old interior rusher is on the field, it’s easy to see how good he can become. Irving has racked up 12 sacks, and 46 quarterback hurries in 24 games (including postseason) for the Cowboys. The interior pressure ability Irving brings should not be overlooked.

The pass-rusher’s struggles noted above suggest Irving’s market may turn out to be slim, but a team like the Seattle Seahawks, who have proven to take chances on players with off-field issues, could benefit adding the young interior rusher to their defensive line rotation.
