NFL free agency 2019: Top 50 available players
By Conor Myles
29. Adrian Amos, S
Amos hit the scene as a rookie in 2015 after the Chicago Bears selected him in the fifth-round of that year’s NFL Draft. He’s since become a full-time starter for the Bears at safety, only missing four starts.
Amos is excelling as a coverage safety, receiving a grade of 89.5 (2017) and 85.5 (2018) over the past two seasons, according to Pro Football Focus. The 25-year-old enters free agency with a career-high of three interceptions, five pass breakups, and allowing only 271 yards to opposing receivers over the course of 1,096 snaps.
The Bears would be wise to retain Amos and keep their young secondary intact, but former defensive coordinator now Denver Broncos head coach, Vic Fangio, could look to pair Amos in his new secondary with Justin Simmons.
