NFL free agency 2019: Top 50 available players
By Conor Myles
25. Mark Ingram, RB
Ingram enters free agency at the age of 29 (and turns 30 during the 2019 season), which isn’t ideal for a running back. Nonetheless, the former first-round pick still has a lot to offer a running back group, especially a committee approach like the one he’s formed in New Orleans with teammate Alvin Kamara.
Ingram missed four games this season, which affected his overall performance, but the running back still rushed for 645 yards on 138 carries, averaged 4.7 yards per attempt and scored rushing and one receiving touchdowns. This was quite a step down from his 230-1124-12 ground campaign in 2017, but it was still productive.
The Saints are starting to lean on Kamara more as the lead back, but keeping Ingram would be wise to continue giving the aging Drew Brees a reliable and varied run game.
