NFL free agency 2019: Top 50 available players
By Conor Myles
13. Nick Foles, QB
Foles is expected to be the most coveted quarterback on the open market if the Philadelphia Eagles opt not to pick up his 2019 option (or he buys out of it). The Super Bowl 52 MVP wants to be a starter in this league, and the Eagles commitment to Carson Wentz won’t allow for that opportunity to be in Philadelphia.
Foles has posted important numbers as a starter dating back to his 27-touchdowns-to-two-interceptions season in 2013 and continuing all the way to the incredible postseason run a year ago that saw him throw for 373 yards and three touchdowns in the Super Bowl. This season, Foles again led the Eagles on another shocking run when the quarterback played in relief of the injured Wentz and drove them all the way to the Divisional round, where the Eagles then suffered a loss against the New Orleans Saints.
The 2012 third-round pick has yet to start a full 16-game season, but with his recent success, the quarterback will find a new home quickly in free agency. Teams like the Washington Redskins, New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be among the numerous interested in Foles.
