NFL free agency 2019: Top 50 available players
By Conor Myles
8. Earl Thomas, S
Thomas has been one of the best safeties in the league since debuting in 2010. The Seattle Seahawks star is known as a top-five player at his position, but injuries have caught up to the 29-year-old, who has missed 19 games since 2016.
Even though Thomas’ season was cut short in 2018, the safety still showed signs of his dominance, capturing three interceptions in the four games he played. There’s no doubt that the former first-round pick still displays impressive coverage skills. Thomas has yet to have a season to date where he allowed over 370 receiving yards, according to Pro Football Focus.
Thomas and the Seahawks appear done with one another after the safety’s tension from his holdout this past offseason rolled into the regular season. Thomas ended up being lost to a year-ending leg fracture, and the three-time All-Pro gave the team his middle finger as he was take off in a stretcher. Even coming off this gruesome injury, Thomas will have plenty of suitors given his talent level.
