Round 4 – Pick 113

Demarcus Christmas, DT, Florida State

With three big needs filled, the Bills can jump back to the defensive side of the ball in the fourth round. A literal massive hole will be left on the defensive interior with Kyle Williams retiring. Williams spent his entire 12 year career in Buffalo and was a six time Pro Bowler. He will be missed, but luckily Buffalo has some contingency plans in place.

Demarcus Christmas would be an ideal replacement player for Williams. At 6-foot-4 and over 310 pounds, Christmas is a nose tackle through and through. Christmas wins with power and leverage by being an unmovable force in the middle. He may not provide much in the pass rush but he will be a welcomed addition along the defensive line to stop the run.

The team drafted Harrison Phillips a year ago in the third round. Phillips offers a bit more as a pass rusher on the inside. The duo of he and Christmas could be a pair of run-stuffers for a team that deploys multiple fronts.

Round 4 – Pick 131

Garrett Bradbury, C, NC State

Someone that would line up directly from Christmas would be the team’s starting center. Last year Buffalo got an unexpected announcement with a career ending injury for starting center Eric Wood. His departure hurt and the team was caught blindsided by the news. They were able to patchwork their interior offensive line but there is no long term answer there.

Garrett Bradbury would be the ideal center for this team to grab in the draft. The North Carolina State product is a sound technician despite coming into college as a tight end. His lateral mobility and agility will be valued in Buffalo with LeSean McCoy behind him. He compliments last year’s rookie guard Wyatt Teller well. Bradbury may not be the biggest or strongest center but he has excellent technique and a relentless work-ethic. This could be the type of player that is a foundational pivot for the Bills despite being a later fourth round pick.
