1. Vardy leads Leicester to win over Tottenham

Tottenham have managed to hang in the title race even though nobody is really considering anyone but Liverpool or Manchester City for the trophy. This weekend the London club have an opportunity to get some points that Manchester City and Liverpool have both dropped.

Liverpool were held by Leicester at Anfield recently while Manchester City were beaten by the Foxes at the King Power. Spurs, however, have managed an away win against Leicester already this season and now have the opportunity to do the double over them.

Leicester’s season has been very up and down with some fantastic victories but overall fans have been left disappointed by Claude Puel’s time in charge. Puel seems to have taken a bit of fire out of this side but he’s done well with perhaps more limited resources than his predecessors.

The Frenchman has been particularly successful with his side away from home as, on the road, the Foxes are the seventh best team in the league. If their home form was anything close to this then Leicester might even be knocking on the door of a place in the top six.

This weekend the Foxes are away and will look to frustrate Spurs much like Newcastle did last week. The Magpies couldn’t hold on for a point at Wembley despite playing very well. Ultimately they were undone by the difference in quality and that should be the case for Leicester this weekend.

The main difference for Puel’s side is that they pose a more attacking threat throughout their squad and they have a reliable finisher in Jamie Vardy. Vardy hasn’t been as prolific this season but he has one of the best goals to games ratio against the best sides in the league.

Tottenham will take the lead in this one but Leicester will fight back to make it 1-1 going into halftime. The game will be in a deadlock until Vardy bags the winner with less than 10 minutes remaining, all but putting an end to Spurs’ title challenge.
