High Value PG

Players costing $6,667 or under

Dennis Smith Jr (at DET – $6,600): Needs 28.9 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 36 fantasy points against Detroit. This is DSJ’s team right now and I expect him to continue to show out. The matchup is a good one because the Pistons are still a weak team even though they have started to play better. I expect another big outing from DSJ because the Knicks just have nothing right now and he can get his numbers. Diagnosis: Very reliable with a good ceiling.

Isaiah Canaan (at NO – $3,500): Needs 15.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 22.5 fantasy points against Orlando. Canaan is now the only point guard remaining in the Minnesota. So this is all about the circumstances. If Bayless ends up playing then that lessens Canaan’s value but if Canaan starts then he’s going to get big minutes and he’s going to deliver because the Timberwolves have literally no one else at point guard right. Diagnosis: Take with confidence if Bayless is out.

Jalen Brunson (vs MIL – $4,900): Needs 21.5 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28.9 fantasy points against Charlotte. Brunson is in the starting lineup and he’s been playing well for the Mavericks. The Mavericks don’t offer much outside of Luka right now but Luka is a guy who gets everyone involved and they have a clear hierarchy, which definitely helps. He’s at a good salary given his minutes and production right now. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.
