No.3: Tevin Coleman, Atlanta Falcons

From this point on, if your team is looking at one of these running backs, they are going to need to spend some money. We begin with Atlanta’s backup – Coleman.

The former third-round selection in the 2015 draft will only be 26 years old at the start of next season. Making him one of the youngest unrestricted free agent running backs.

Since entering the league, Coleman has been an effective runner and pass catcher. He has averaged at least 4.0 yards per carry in every season, including a career high 4.8 yards per carry last year.

Last year, Coleman’s role in the offense increased drastically because Devonta Freeman could not stay healthy and eventually landed on injured reserve. That led to Coleman setting career highs in starts (14) and rushing yards (800).

But, even when Freeman was on the field, Coleman produced and his rushing numbers increased every single season. Over the last three years, Coleman has accumulated 2,944 yards from scrimmage and 28 total touchdowns. During that span he scored at least four rushing touchdowns every season and at least three receiving touchdowns.

In four years, Coleman has compiled 2,340 rushing yards and 1,010 receiving yards. To put those numbers into perspective, he is one of 14 running backs, since 2014, to rush for over 2,300 yards and 1,000 receiving yards.

According to Spotrac, Coleman’s calculated market value is $5 million per season and he is likely looking at a four-year contract worth up to $20 million. Coleman can be a legit number one back based on his numbers above. Any team that misses out on Le’Veon Bell, Kareem Hunt or Mark Ingram, will run to sign Coleman.
