No.1: Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh Steelers

Not only is the former Pittsburgh Steelers running back number one on this list, he is the top offensive free agent available this offseason. But, if you are planning on adding one of the best backs in football, be ready to break the bank.

Bell decided to sit out the entire 2018 season, rather than playing under the franchise tag for a second straight year. At only 26-years old, Bell has plenty of football left and is a generational talent.

Since entering the league in 2013, Bell has carried the ball 1,229 times for 5,336 yards and 31 touchdowns. He also has 312 receptions for 2,660 yards and seven scores.

Bell is the only running back to rush for 5,000 yards and 2,500 receiving yards since 2013. He has rushed for at least 100 yards in 18 of the 62 regular season games he has played in, nearly 30%.

He has rushed for over 1,200 yards three times, scored at least seven touchdowns in four out of the five years, been named to three Pro Bowls and is a two-time All-Pro.

According to Ian Rapoport, back in November, Bell is looking for more than $17 million per year. There are plenty of teams that could afford him, but are they willing put so much faith in just one player.

The Jets have been linked to Bell the minute he decided to sit out last year because of how much money they have. But, recent reports indicate the organization may not be willing to shell out all of that money for him.

Bell’s resume speaks for itself. But, this next contract could very well determine his NFL legacy. He could go down as one of the best backs to ever play and be a vital piece to a Super Bowl contender. Or he can get paid and become unmotivated and considered one of the worst free agents signing in NFL history.
