High Value SG

Players costing $6,250 or under

Reggie Jackson (vs WAS – $5,600): Needs 26.1 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 33 fantasy points against New York. As much as I don’t like Jackson’s game overall, there’s no denying his impact right now. He’s playing very well and he gets a good matchup against the Wizards defense. He’s shooting the ball well and chipping in with assists. He’s also not hurting the team with turnovers. Until he goes cold, you can keep taking him with some confidence. Diagnosis: Reliable with a high ceiling.

Nicolas Batum (at IND – $4,900): Needs 22.3 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 27 fantasy points against Atlanta. Batum continues to play well for the Hornets. I’m not opposed to Jeremy Lamb in this spot either but Batum is at a lesser salary and is more reliable because of it. Lamb has a higher ceiling. I’m leaning towards Batum just based on reliability and the potential that is there for him. Diagnosis: Reliable with a good ceiling.

Landry Shamet (at MIN – $3,900): Needs 17.8 fantasy points. LAST GAME – 28 fantasy points against Boston. The Clippers have something in Shamet and I think they know it. Doc Rivers is using him similar to the way he used Redick, which means he’s getting plenty of shooting opportunities. I suspect he’ll continue to get strong minutes and opportunities moving forward as the Clippers decide if they are competing or tanking. Diagnosis: Fairly reliable with a high ceiling.
